    Default Kentucky 9/29/16

Really enjoying being out in the cooler weather, haven't fished Kentucky any to speak of in the last year or so but decided to give it a go this morning. Burrowed up and not super aggresive after the front. Scads and scads of shorts but some real nice fish here and there. Tangled with a giant but somehow managed to throw my rain slick net at her instead of dipping her and lost her rescuing my net.

How bad was the wind? I went out yesterday and got blown off the lake.

Those are beauties. Glad I'm not the only one who does things crazy with a net.

Pretty choppy at times but not terrible. If they forecast at 10mph or so like today I plan on fishing an area that will be somewhat protected.

Way to go Austin. After I lost 2 I put a noodle on newest one. Then about a month ago while fishin the brush pile I lost the 2nd. My buddy caught a crappie and had a lot of problems getting in I told him he was hung up. But when he finally got it in. My net was on the 2nd hook. Probably 6 months later. Cleaned up nicely. Now I have spare. I can never catch it when drop. Of course it is usually in winter

You should by a few lottery tickets with your luck.

Nice Austin. You still using tubes? I may have to try some different baits or something. Can't seem to find the fish like I use to. Lost my MoJo somewhere. Also seeing mostly white crappie. The blacks are hiding somewhere. Guess I have a lot of time now to figure them out. Thanks for sharing. You fishing the fruit jar ?

I used Bobby Garland Baby Shad and Southern Pro shad stringers on Kentucky the other day, still mainly fishing tubes on Barkley.

I can't help much on the black crappie, I don't catch too many of them. The ones I do catch are normally relating to wood on top of points or shallower ledges, say like 8-11fow.

Probably not fishing fruit jar, right in the middle of my 4 night set at work and using the last of my vacation for fall break next week.
