On the Penna board, we have been talking about doing a Crappie Camp at Pymatuming Lake the third weekend of May. Since both states can fish the lake, we thought that it might be nice, if we did it together if possible. It would start on Friday, and end on Sunday, and the plan is to have it at the northern end of the lake. Ed Moes (slab) already knows about it, and would send some goodies for it. Who knows, maybe he might come to it too.
I would like to know what all of you think about it, so please feel free to respond here, or come over to the Pa board, to discuss it. I do have stickies up for it, that you can read. We are trying to get a planning committee together, and if you would like to help plan it, please let me know. Thanks, Keith
It's a little early for me to make a commitment right now but I would probably be in for the trip up north. I may be able to get a few friends to come along too.
Spring is a much better time for me for get togethers for me because hunting season doesn't get in the way.
The days we picked, are because it will either be still pre-spawn, or the spawn will be starting. Pymatuming is the largest lake in Pa. For all of you, as long as fishing from a boat, you can use your Ohio fishing license, any where on the lake. Will be getting out more info very soon, as to which campground will be used, and there are cabins by the lake, that can be rented too. Saturday will be the big day of the event.

Love to, but as I recall that lake has a 20HP motor limit and I run a 225. Alot of the guys that fish SW OH run larger motors.
Yes it is a 20 hp lake but Shenango is unlimited except for one area that is only ten horse, and it is a corp lake. All our state parks are 20 unless it is electric only. The whole idea is of people meeting and making new friends. Each person will have to make up their own mind, as to if they come or not.
The guys from Crappienow magazine come up with their big motors and fish. They use their trolling motors. Guess they have 101 pound thrust that pull their boats pretty good. You don't have to go farther than a mile to be smack dab in the middle of the major stumpfield. Fully charged batteries will last all day. Come up and enjoy yourself with the crew.

Thanks for the info Ken I was just going to ask if it was feasible using a TM. I fish a limited hp lake down here in SW Ohio with a 46# 12v TM all the time and I don't have any problems fishing all day.
My boat isn't all that fast with the OB so I won't be winning any races either way.
I just marked the dates on my calendar.

Good luck, hope you do well. Pymy is the biggest lake in Ohio outside of Lake Erie, if you include the PA portion, so lots of water to fish
