Default Hello to the East NC Folks

Looking forward to crossing wakes with the East NC folks. We just finished our house on the Yeopim. Won't be permanently down there for awhile but will be there most of the summer. Haven't caught crappie yet but have caught bass, rock, catfish, white perch and pickeral off the dock so far.

Welcome to the area. If I'm looking at the map right you are just up sound from me. I'm where the North River and Pasquotank rivers come together in the Albemarle sound. Really good fishing in the area.

Welcome to the area. I am just up the road where 17 and 17 Bypass come together south of EC. Crappie fishing has been slow but when they turn on I have filled the fryer.

Again welcome and hope to see you out fishing.

Well while everyone is chiming in.....Im also a close neighbor. I live right here in Edenton and mainly fish for crappie. The fishing can be really good at times around here. As of matter of fact. I have limited out the past 2 days. You are definitely in a good area. Good Luck and Welcome to the area.

So just an update. Since I have been new to the area. This summer I have caught just about every species so far(Bass, rock, sunnies, gar, warmouth, catfish, yellow perch, white perch) but have yet to catch a crappie. I did see a dead one floating past my dock though. LOL Killed the Bluecrabs too, I'm originally from MD, it seems like I'm the only rec I ever see crabbing down here.

Have you ever tried the Crabmaster with those local crabs? I have one and love the meat you can get with it. I steam the claws and mostly make crabcakes with the pressed meat. Here is a picture of one and a video of a lady using one.
