Default Think I will do a Talquin water test.

Think I'm going to shoot down and loose some jigs tomorrow. Maybe find a Speck or two, or at least give the fly rod a work out for some bream.
I'll let y'all know how it turns out.

Water test complete. The results are........The water is hot...........The Crappie are not.
Had a great day on the water. We trolled all over the lake and marked a bunch of specks in 17-25 ft. of water, and the bite was very lite and short.
We did manage a few bream and a nice kitty fish that took a hair jig. So all in all, great day. Got to knock the rust off the boat, enjoyed Lake Talquin, and best of all spend the day with my daughter on the water. Don't get much better than that.

Was there last weekend at the lodge checking on my camper for any damage. Carried boat but the lake was so far down didn't even put it in the water. Lowest I've ever seen. Boats sitting on the mud at the dock!

Speaking of the low water, I wish they would take the lake back down like they did in the mid 90's. They took it down 18 feet through the winter and brought it back up the first of April. The following 3 years was the best years I ever fished lake Talquin. Numbers the first year and then the sizes went way up the following 2 years.

Yes best I ever had were the years after drawdowns. Tough to get true three pounders since.
