Thread: Cane Creek 9/8/16 report

Managed to get in the water by 7:30 had caught 15 by 8:30 only 2 were keepers. The it slowed to a crawl little spurts where I'd get 2-3 within 10 minutes then nothing for long periods. Was on the way home by noon, just too hot for this guy.
The morning fish were hooked in 23' of water later in the morning they liked 10fow go figure, the 23 was on the Northern side of the lake and the 10' was the other side
Water temp 83% yellow and white seemed to be the color of the day.
Talked to a fellow pushing and he'd gotten 15 with 10 keepers mostly jigs. He was on the South side in 10 fow
Ended the morning with 40 caught, 9 keepers largest was 13 1/2 next was 11". I threw some back that were 8" only kept 8 1/2 or larger. I think the lake will be full of good sized crappie in a few months.

Sounds like it turned out to be a good day even if it was hot. I will be down there Sunday am. I mostly pull jig this time of year but want to try minnows over some stuff I seen on the DF the last time I was there.
