    Default Very Pleasant Experiance

I had a couple of free days this weekend so I ran down to Grenada to pull some cranks. Well the fishing wasn't great but we did catch some. We fished until about 12:00 Monday and headed back to Grenada Landing. There were several Fish and Wildlife agents at the ramp. I knew immediately we would get checked. As we pulled out, Mr. Carver motioned me over to the side. He walked up and shook my hand and introduced himself. I have spoken with him in the past and always had a good experience with him. He asked if we did any good. I told him we only caught a few keeper crappie along with a ton of catfish, white bass and goo's. He asked if I minded if he checked my fish. "Absolutely, help yourself." He boarded my boat and checked my livewell. Since I only kept fish 13 inches or bigger, he didn't bother measuring them. He checked our fishing licenses and thanked me again, shook my hand and went on to the next boat. I've been checked a dozen time at other lakes but none have been nicer than Officer Carver. Good job Mississippi Fish and Game.

Good to hear people saying something good about our Game Wardens. They are just doing their jobs just like we do ours. That's what we all pay them to do and without them there would be nothing left to hunt and fish for. If you don't believe this check back in history were almost all the game was hunted to near extinction here in Mississippi. Thanks for your post Speck and no I am no Game Warden I just respect them and their jobs.
Be safe and good luck fishing

He is a great guy! But, in my 50 something years of hunting and fishing, I have never had a bad experience with a GW! They have all been super nice! You treat them with the respect they deserve, they will treat you better. They have a tough job and they do it the best they can. Thanks to all the Game Wardens out there!

Yep he checked us at about 1230 like you we only had four keepers no slimmers though. He was just as nice as he could be. It was like shift change around there, fishing boats out, pleasure craft in. Great day to be on the lake.
