Here is a suggestion that has helped me recover after my heart surgeries (5 so far). Drink LOTS of water. I mean seriously LOTS of water. For me it flushed all the anesthesia out of my system faster. It also helps with the pain meds they give me.

Been having some better days. Still light headed, and not able to drive yet. Walking is getting better.
Over the past two days, my ear has popped a few to several times daily, giving various amounts of time of some actual hearing and less fog or pressure on the right side of my head. And then it would begin to close back and the pressure or fog would gradually build again.

It's slowly healing and I know it will take time. But I can now say progress is being made, and I can handle that! Again thank you for your thoughts and prayers, they are truly appreciated. Let's get this business all healed up before the fall fishing begins. I got some penned up aggression to release on the feeshes!!!

What did they tell you about chewing? I know that chewing gum is a treatment/remedy for ears popping on flights. I think it promotes the equalizing of pressure. I would certainly ask the doc before doing it but it may help along with the advice of drinking lots of water.

let me know if there is anything you guys need while in Nashville, I don't care to come down, bring a meal, etc.

It's been a different world the last few days. My ear continues to pop, and experiencing longer times of gained hearing capabilities!
Evenings are still pretty painful due to pressures building. I did some driving yesterday, and that felt good! The appetite has returned and the taste buds are getting better each day.

Headed to Vanderbilt on Tuesday for my first post operative appointment. He should be removing the Internal packing and that should dramatically help with the recovery efforts!
Thanks guys for the continued support!

Not quite the same but I was in a bad motorcycle accident 3 years ago. I basically have an ear on the outside but the inside is destroyed. Nothing left for a hearing aid to work with. I know how the pain goes with it. So... reflecting on my situation and listening to your story I have a prescription for both of us. Sell the house, buy a houseboat, when climbing the walls simply take fishing rod to the porch

    Glad you are mending Brian.

My Mom has had serious bouts of vertigo over the years and will go to bed fine and wake up, go to stand up, and hit the floor. Some times it lasts a few hours but others a few days. I hope I never see that situation. A friend of mine had it for 7 months a few years ago and it nearly killed him. I can't imagine feeling nauseated constantly like he did.
