I was there 2 weeks ago and marked a lot of fish but didn't get a bite. I may have been doing something wrong because i can't seem to catch crappie often. BUT a lot of people say its a good place to catch them.

Fish tremble at the sound of my name
Had a few folks come out Sat. Wasnt lookin for a big crowd anyway, Weather was great at splash time. But then the breeze kicked up. Well o.k. the dang wind was howling.. Beautiful little lake. They dont call it Stumpy Pond for no reason. In the blowing wind we finally got the anchors to set. Wasnt long and had fish comin in the boat. Not a lot of super slabs but plenty for a fish fry. Setup in 24 fow. Water temp still 90. Wind was tough till bout 9:30. Then the buggs took over. All together it was a fun night. Everyone caught fish. We had around 50 crappie on my boat but only kept 22.Only caught 2 perch. Aint no lie ..2 perch. Bout the same with the rest of the gang. If you never been there it is a nice place. Only saw 2 other boats and none after dark. What a change from Wylie.
You caught way more than me sitting on the sofa
Thanks for the report
By looking at the picture with the rods in the water near the bank, looks like there was some current? Never been on that lake, just wondering....... Looks like a good place to catch a catfish....
oh yea, I've seen that boat with the black rod holders on wylie many times.
John, hopefully you can get another one set up for stumpy pond and I can make it. It's the closest one for me travel wise, and since everyone caught lots of fish, that may help the crowd next time. My first night stalking experience came at stumpy pond around the early 90's,got the heck scared out of me for about 15 seconds! I put in on the cedar creek side, was the only boat there, pitch black. As I was getting ready to leave I putted back to the landing, got out of the boat and as I was walking back up the hill to get my truck( with one of those" el cheap o" 99 cents plastic flashlights) here came something running down the hill towards me,russtling the leaves loud as it was coming towards, shining the light that way didn't do much good. My second thought was to run back to the landing,..about that time a beagle busted out of the woods,,he was lost I reckon or got left by the hunters and was glad to see a person! I was also glad it wasn't Bigfoot ,the occasional bear you read about or zombie! It did scare me good. I just petted the dog, loaded up and went home. I did catch 7 crappie that night. Matthew, they are good cat fishing there.
HEY,,WATCH THAT YELLOW ROD
