Thank you so much to all my Crappie.com family. My wife is finally sleeping. In fact she slept for a good solid hour and a half. She is feeling much better now that she can breathe with the tracheostomy tube. Still not out of the water, but the immediate life threatening situation is over. Now just wait and see what they are going to be able to do next. I hope you all don't mind if I share this little verse I wrote in the early hours this morning as I sat by her side here in the hospital. I call it "We're Not Done"
I don't understand why it's happened to you
or what evil is behind all of it
Was it something from the the devil himself
or a test from God that we'll never forget.
34 years we've shared this life
In the worst of times it remained wonderful
Now they're trying to take you, but I won't let go
No matter how hard the unknown evils pull

By my side in a hospital gown
Wires and hoses connect you to monitors

I was worried it might be your last one
To the evil that tried to take you from me
I say to bad because we're not done

He doesn't give us any more than we can handle. Everything happens for a reason and sometimes it takes awhile for us to truely know what that reason is. Sometimes we may never know. For each person who's lives she has touched, or is touching as we speak, that reason can be different.
We are within an hour of U of M. She is well taken care of there. Let us know if you need anything. My house is open if you need a hot shower, a warm meal, and comfortable bed!
