    Default Hyco Lake

The boss and I went fishing this morning at Hyco Lake. We have a little place there, so convenience means a lot. Last week I had checked out a Mossback attractor that the state had installed. I picked up 6 that day....but it was so brutally hot I couldn't stand anymore fun. So today, same scenario, we caught about 20 before the bite slowed to a crawl. The wife normally skunks me on the fish count, but I beat her today. (Well, I may have to re-think that comment if she reads this.) We tried different color jigs, but stayed with purple/chartruse tail jig Mr Monk sells. It seemed to be slightly more productive. We kept 9 with the largest being 13", most were 10-12". The pics attached show quite a group of fish, probably playing cards, smoking cigars and complaining about the hot temps !

Good report for August fishing. Very good screen shots.

Nice catch and love those screenshots. Question--I see the temperature about six degrees difference. Do you think is was because of the different times of the day or location on the lake. I know at one time Hyco had power generation and warmed parts of the lake.

You've got your DI dialed-in good and interesting looking at the man-made structure. I see a few fish in the arms, but most around the outside. It looks like there is another one in the foreground. Did they put several out in this area?

The two screenshots were about a week apart. There was some heavy rain after the first pic. I think the rain cooled down the water some. This area is quite a ways from the power plant, and I don't think this area is impacted by the plant. A side shot of the same area. There are two structures at this place, although there are a total of seven attractor sites on the lake.
