That is a fine motor U have. I have seen numerous Gheenoe on small lakes around here and most have jackplates. Yamaha has a "how to" about jackplates on their web page.
Impeller? New don't mean it is good. Someone dry starting can damage impeller. It could pee good at idle and not pee got at speed.
Just trying to help here. Jackplates change dynamics of engine height. Read Yamaha how to.
