Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang and

I leave mine on. I got one of those run-of-the-mill tite lok holders with another rest I welded up and put halfway in between to sure up my 16ft rods. I then use gear ties to hold all of my rods down. When I'm on the road, they're tied down at multiple points-including where the cranks are hooked into the rod. When I go across the lake, I lay the handles down into the "butt" holder and put the bungee across. I then use a 24" gear tie to make sure the baits don't fly around if they were to come off. If it's real rough, I'll bungee the tips down into the rear holder. Takes 30 seconds. When I get to the lake in the morning, I take all gear ties off and leave the 3 tie down points connected as mentioned. Takes 30 seconds to get em outta the rod rack and into the holder for fishing.
I guess I always watched my grandad get everything ready at the ramp before fishing, and before departure. I may be (will always be) the last guy to launch or leave, but I will also be the last one to lose something to the road or not have things sorted out when the time to fish comes-instead of getting stuff sorted once I'm on the water.
Nothing beats fishing. Everybody is their own captain.
Two words..lure wrap.
