Was that an infomercial?
I get a lot of questions about the durability of these motors after I did all the mods and a lot of question in general about this type motor. I intended to shoot a fishing video but got rained out. The motor performed admirably and served as proof that they work in adverse conditions.
If it sounded like an informercial, I had no intent on doing so.
Full Disclosure: OMB warehouse did supply $318 worth of go fast go-kart parts to build the motor. The original motor kit from mudmotorkit.com. Mr. Dobbs gave me the equivalent a gift card on future purchases for which I redeemed for a tailpipe, extra propellers and various speciality tools for the kit. I don't receive any ongoing compensation, commissions or kickbacks if anyone purchases this motor kit, powerhead or the parts. This is the motor I use, the dealings I've had with the companies, and documentation of me putting it through it's paces.
This is one video of an entire series that goes all the way back to February 2015 that documented the entire process of building the motor:

If all you've seen is the one video, then it would sound like an infomercial, but if you've been following the build over the past 18 months, it's the next inevitable point in the build process.
There are people who have been following this build every since I purchased the original kit and reviewed it in late November 2014: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hiwfUaQolk
have a bud that built a mud motor from parts he found laying around for duck huntin ....works pretty good for log jumping in the river as well .....
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales
Yeah, it seems a surprising number of people use these for duck hunting, but they're just as much at home in open water for fishing.
