    Default Old school baits

I've been cleaning out my dad's house and I found may dad's old plug box. There some old school baits in there. Just thought I'd share they with you old timers. Name: uploadfromtaptalk1471223933086.jpg

Now these where some of my favorites when I was a kid. I caught some many fish on the gold one, I was my favorite. The blue one was a manns loud mouth I love that crank for muddy water. Manns dose not make it anymore I bet some of you remember some of these as well. Name: uploadfromtaptalk1471224287808.jpg

Pretty cool. I have a few of those put up. Them old lures sure caught a lot of fish. Now I'm afraid to take them out.

Yep....... I got over 250 of those old baits, most of them wood...I don't use them anymore ....Have been planning on building a display case for them.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Nice baits - mudbug, jitterbug, river runt and the second post with pics there's a Rapala in there and the others look like Bill Normans. Work just as good today as they did long ago.

That shallow shad rap is a very special bait. When conditions are right for it ...it will fool fish like unreal. Because of their shape when a fish shakes its head good they can throw it.Have had them shake one set loose while I was lipping fish to and the other set snag me in the hand....more than once or twice. I have even changed the hooks to triple grips and sickle hooks...which is okay but you have to be sure not to change the action...something about exactly the way the bait rolls side to side fools em I think.

The Bomber in the first pick...I grew up on a little MDC lake that was full of timber...you deep crank that Bomber Mud Bug ( we just called em bombers back then)through there and man we caught some monster bass on those. And jitterbugs were just plane fun.

We have a lot of technology today...but I'd as soon go back to how things use to be. I still throw those shad raps...wicked good bait

I've also caught some big crappie on a shad rap. It funny you can use some of the old classes and they catch fish better now because nobody fishes them anymore.
