    Default Kinkaid

Went out to kinkaid this morning for a few hours between the rain showers and ended up with our limit. Had our 50 fish in less than 4 hours, would have caught them quicker but ran around quite a bit trying to find some big ones. Majority of fish were 10-11 inches but we did manage several around a 1-1.25 pounds.

Nice job. I love Kinkaid in the winter and wish the pads and pad stems were still there. Did you get any blacknose?

I would say probably 20 or so of the keepers were blacknose

What's the ticket for crappie fishing clear water like that? Slip bobber and long casts?

    Very Nice!
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.

Skunked again, i can tell you one thing I swear by for clear water is using fluorocarbon line. All my rods are spooled with 8 lb seaguar fluorocarbon and I've seen it make a huge difference against buddies of mine that were using high vis line or mono. Other than that usually when I find my fish on the graph I will throw a marker bouy out on the upwind side of the school and swing back around and slowly troll back up to the school and slowly work from the downwind side of the school to the upwind end only moving forward when the bite slows. Boat position is a big key on clear water because once you blow over the top you can spoke them easily. Normally I start off dropping straight down on them vertical fishing this time of the year and if i think this isnt working and I'm spoking the fish then I'll back off and cast a slip bobber into them or fixed bobber depending on the depth. Today we caught all our fish vertical jigging minnows.

Thank you for the information. I never paid attention to line types or diameter. Until this spring, went bass fishing at loz with a friend. Using same lure and techniques, he was catching, I wasn't. Only noticeable difference was types of line.
    I've since switched line type.
