Don, when do the Stripers usually start moving back up the lake? Just wondering if they will still be down in September. Sure would be a bit cooler then. We got the NC/SC thing at Wylie the end of Sept.

Ray they will start moving back up the end of sept or the first of October. It depends on water temp more than anything else. Sept can be a real good month for stripers. I have seen them start scattering the middle of sept.

Ronnie I love fishing out of the tracker but it was so under powered. The 150 will make it a lot better especially when fishing from the house. I leave my house and if I turn right I go to the dam wish is about 15 miles. If I turn left I can go up the rivers which is about 20 miles. From my house up the best crappie fishing is up the rivers. Can't wait to get it mounted and run it
Way to go fellows, some fine looking line sides,

Thank a Veteran every chance you get.
Here is a great recipe for Striped Bass. There is never any leftovers when I fix it. I got the recipe from a New England book on fishing for Stripers in Salt Water. You can use other fish, but great for Stripers.
Fish Chowder using Striped Bass
6-8 strips bacon
2 LG onions chopped
2# fish fillets
3 LG potatoes diced
1 tsp each salt and pepper
1 tsp favourite herbs
3 cups water
1/2 cup canned milk
1 can cream mushroom soup
Fry bacon, drain. Salute onions in fat till translucent.
Put in LG kettle, add fish, potatoes, salt pepper, herbs and water. Simmer until done, then add soup and milk. Serve with bacon crumbled over top. Best if sits overnight in fridge to let flavors blend, but not necessary.
