Thread: Anybody doing any longlining at Kerr

newly,HAVE NOT BEEN TO LAKE FOR A WHILE DR ADVICE,I SEE YOU ALL ARE LONGLINNING IN NC LAKES AND I THINK YOU COULD GET SOME AT KERR,HOWEVER I THINK GRASSY ,RUDDS,ISLAND CREEK WOULD HAVE A MUCH BETTER CHANCE,IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO PUT IT ON KERR LAKE BOARD,HOWEVER MUCH OF THE BIGGER FISH ARE COMING ABOVE 58 BRIDGE TO BUFF CREEK,WISH I COULD HAVE HELP A FELLOW TAR HEEL MORE.IF YOU WERE TO GO TO ONE OF THOSE PLACES I MENTION ,IF YOU PM ME I CAN GIVE YOU SOME GOOD BP TO TRY,JUST LET ME KNOW

I think I would try grassy ( long wood) I've had good luck in there in the spring

ISLAND CREEK IS NOT FAR FROM WHERE HE IS STAYING AND JUST A LITTLE WAYS ACROSS THE LAKE IS GRASSY BY WATER.

I've never fished island creek I've fished grassy and buffalo

island creek is not a big creek compared to grassy or rudds but it do not get as much attention as they do and much shorter to mouth of island and grassy than it is to go by way of grassy to fish mouth of both creeks

I caught both of my biggest 2 crappie ever long lining at Kerr, (2lb 9oz) but that was in late March and early April. Bobby Garland Baby Shads tipped with minnows. Pearl and Blue Ice are good colors for clear water.
