    Talking 8/3 Report!

OK guys....nobody doing much posting so here's one from today...

Started by getting to the ramp before daylight and having everything ready to launch when first l9ight broke. Got to the fishing area I wanted to fish s daylight broke and got long lines in the water. Water temps were down a couple degrees running right at 85.5 degrees and was fairly clear in spike of the rains lately. It was foggy and still this morning...

As with last week I began with 1/32nds but today the fish were a bit deeper and wasnt coming up taking the offerings as fast as last week so I quickly switched to 1/16th single jigs and kept trolling at .8 mph. From trial and error it finally seemed that .9-1.0 mph was the best speeds on a very long throw.

Anyway, overcast, light winds if any, and some fog made for a great morning of fishing. Was regularly picking up fish with several doubles. Never caught any monsters but was able to put some respectable fish in the 'well...

The graph constantly had fish and/or bait on the screen. Here's a couple screen shots of what I was seeing this morning...

Hard to tell in one pic but here's a couple pull downs too. Coulda gotten better but this is gonna have to do for today.

Well, that's bout it for today. Last week was a better day for putting fish in the boat but since I didnt carry along the camera I didnt post that trip. Today I fished from light enough to see which was @ 6:30AM until 11:30AM and put a total of 76 crappie in the boat keeping a solid limit of 30 fish to eat. No livewell pics today though...sorry. All I can say is go find 'em and you can catch 'em. They are DEFINITELY following the bait and in my case that was threadfin shad. All fish came from 13'-20' of water with jigs running @ 6'-8' deep.

Nice report Butch I am glad you were able to get out and catch a few for the freezer. I am going to try greenwood next week one day and see if they are willing to bite. Thanks for sharing pictures

Great report Butch. Boy the water sure is cooler at the Hill. Murray usually hits the 90s.

Butch the lake looks just right for a good day of pulling. Great to hear you were able to get on the lake and find the biting fish. Enjoyed the report and pictures

Great report! If we caught 76 crappies up here it would be a miracle, we usually get the 6 and we all would be happy with that. LOL
