I hear of cases all the time when someone was attacked and they have their CC license but not the weapon because they did not think that they would be in a situation where they would need it. You dont know just how true that is!!!! Not a month ago a druggie killed his girlfriends grand mother at her house and 1 hour later he walks up to one of my neighbors that was mowing his grass and asked him for a ride, my neighbor give him the ride and 15 minutes after he had got out of the car, my neighbor found out that he had killed somebody earlier that day. He report this to the police and about 30 minutes later they had him in jail! You never know what people are up to these days!!!!

I read on our home board a few years ago that it is illegal to carry on Army Corps of Engineering lakes. I never looked into the validity of it but someone who frequents one of those lakes may want to check or know.

You are correct. Any government property I believe is off limits to CC. Doesn't make sense in my mind...but I guess it is what it is. Churches are also off limits but there is a program now where your church can vote it in. Ours voted it in. Hahahahaaha people are armed to the teeth at my church.

Yea, and that's why so much bs go's on, cause the bad guys know your not suppose to have a gun on the lakes. I'm sure glad I had mine late one evening a few years ago.

On Friday, May 1, 2015, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 2028 the "Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2016," by a bipartisan vote of 240-177.

This bill is designed to protect the rights of gun owners on lands owned or managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps). This legislation would help end the patchwork of firearm laws and regulations that govern different federal lands managed by different federal agencies.

On May 12, 2009, legislation was passed that greatly reduced restrictions on the possession of firearms for self-defense on National Park Service and National Wildlife Refuge System lands. Under this legislation, rules governing carry on those federal lands incorporate the laws of the state in which the lands are located. This greatly expanded the places where law-abiding Americans can legally carry firearms for self-defense. However, that change in the law did not include millions of acres of recreational land managed by the Corps. The Corps owns or manages over 11.7 million acres, including 400 lakes and river projects, 90,000 campsites and 4,000 miles of trails. H.R. 2028 would reverse the Corps' policy and restore the right of law-abiding Americans to possess firearms for self-defense on Corps lands.

Here there is an enhanced carry permit that will let you carry almost everywhere except a government building. I am not sure how that relates to the lakes.

In Ga your vessel or vehicle is an extension of your home and you are allowed to carry even without the permit.

You guys are so lucky. I too have a legal CC permit. Here's my question. Do any of you still fear for your life when you make the dumb mistake of being pulled over for speeding and have your weapon on your hip? Lately, I do.
