Default New rod and reel report

I recently bought myself a 7' ugly stick elite ul and a pflueger president 25. Been out a couple of times this week. Nothing big but had fun trying out the rod and reel. Was fishing a 2 1/64 Jig heads about a foot apart under a slip float. Started with pink and black trout magnets they liked the pink so I replaced black with orange. All in all a good week I really like the new set up.

Nice job out there. Sounds like you are going to really enjoy your new rig.

    Default Another Great Day

I wasn't planning on going fishing today but when I got off work it was 70 with overcast sky's. The temperature here has been in the high 80s to mid 90's with heat index into the 100s. So I figured I has better take the opportunity to fish some nice weather. Turned out to be a great idea fishing started kinda slow but ended up with 10 or so crappie, 12-15 gills, a big red ear and a bass. Still fishing 2 1/64 jig heads but was using southern Pro panfish stingers started with black/Chart on top black/pink on botton. Nothing was hitting the black/Chart so changed to white/Chart. All gills took the white and crappie hit the black.

Red ear weighted just under a pound
Bass was right at 2 pounds

Those are my two favorite reel brands. How sensitive is the ugly stick ul rod?

Couldn't really answer how sensitive the rod is yet. All the fishing I have done has been with a float.

Good job with the reel, some good eating there. I would put them on the grill.
