Any public water south of interstate 20 and west of 55. I don't have any spot set on where to go. Going to take a few days off work and hopefully tag a gator. Probably bounce around in that zone.

Ok, we hunted Pasgagula (sp) one time but thats East of where you will be. I thought the tags were sold, first come first serve this time. I quit fooling with it but they have opened some areas up here now, when went the only other place to go was at Ross Barnett.

They used to have a class u could go to. Actually it was required. They will teach u the methods used to catch a gator and they teach you how to dispatch the gator. Go to mwfp website and dig through the info there. From that you will see what areas you can hunt in your zone. Once you know what areas you can hunt, go and look at the aerial maps. Find the boat ramps and the water levels you need to access these areas. Go down a few days early and scout the places you think you will hunt. Find you a big gator and stick with him. He won't move much but the boat traffic is gonna make him spooky. U got to get him early or just stick with him and be patient. Oh yea, your gonna need some more hands in that boat. When u hook up with him you need to get another hook in him. I think 3 people in boat is perfect, a driver, caster, and a shiner. Good luck
