I'm planning on going to Fall River end of week to scout out the lake. It's been a long time since I've been there and want to plan a trip to do some float line fishing. Going to do some looking, asking, etc.
I will definitely be asking how the crappie are doing there and for Toronto.
If no one chimes in with reports I will report what i find out or don't find out.

Caught a mess of fish up in the river above Toronto early Saturday morning. All fish came from less than 6 fow, on jigs. After the sun clears the trees and starts beating on the water you'll just have to start chasing the shad around to find them. I wouldn't stay that long. When it got hot we went to Hilltop and had breakfast.

Well didn't get much info from the Fall River locals. No crappie reports since the weather got hot. Talked to try-corners bait shop and a camp host.
In general they said the fishing has been very good this year.
Fall River has lots of fishing docks but didn't see one person on them in the 2 days on the lake.
Really didn't see hardly any fishers on the lake.
Lots of shad. Everywhere. In coves and around the main channel.
We did ok. Closest to crappie we got was one unlucky white bass on float line on cut Shad. Took the whole 5/0 hook down.
From our catches it seems everything is eating the Shad.
The Shad I caught was threadfin and a lot on the small size.
If I was targeting crappie with Shad in the area I would try a live small Shad under a float. They Shad should be easy to net in about 2-5 ft of water. Also Toronto looks to have some standing timber might be a target area.
Not much help. I think I'll post in off topic our catfishing report.
Have fun out there and would like to hear how you do!
