i think there should be a length limit on all lakes and enforced .

I think the way things are now is good for crappie fishing. We need kids to be interested in crappie fishing and if they have to throw back most of their fish they lose interest in this hi-tech world. Crappie fishing is good in Georgia and I wouldn't change a thing except for there to be more Rangers checking live wells. Kids are the future and the hope of the outdoors. Just my useless thoughts.

I agree with Slabby although I do enforce my own limits.

jim.b , I do not know. White crappie tend to be in open water and not as dependent on strutcure and shade as Black crappie are. I have caught around 250 white crappie in two trips to Mississippi and only one black crappie.

I would like to add to my earlier post in which I failed to mention that I agree with Earl in that the Biologists should pick our best lake according to their studies and place a length limit on it and maybe lower the amount of fish you are allowed to keep. They could study it and see the results and then we would know if it would work in Georgia. There are many factors in a fishery which will have an impact on the results of the changes. If it works in Georgia on the test lake then maybe use the limits on a couple of other lakes, leaving some lakes to take kids to catch fish for fun and get them interested in fishing. Earl I am sorry to change your great fishing report post to a limits debate. You had a great crank bait trip and a wonderful time in Mississippi. My wife's parents were from Mississippi and I sure would like to go there and give it a try. Great report and y'all had a outstanding fishing trip.
