Today I took my oldest son Chase for a quick fishing trip. We went on the Houston river. I dug some worms under the rabbit cages for some excitement if the sacs weren't biting. We hit a couple of lay downs for a few sacs but nothing of any size. They were biting on grey ghosts tight lining down to about 8 feet in 15 fow. We stopped at a cut that had a brush pile sunk at its mouth. When we kept getting bumps and nothing caught. I said lets switch to the bream rods. We sat there in the shade and caught a bream, goggle eye, and chinquapin on every cast. We fished until we were tired of catching them. I know I had to of caught around 50 or more my self. We released all the fish.

On the way home we planned a serious sacaulait trip next week on Lacassine Bayou. The fishing forecast will be in the mid 90's with the full moon coming. Chase told me thanks for fixing his fishing fix he has been needing taken care of.

What a great way to spend some time. Brim fishing can be a blast when they're biting hard and fast. Good luck on the sacalait trip. Thanks for the report and pictures.

Nice Don! Glad you were able to get Chase on some fish. If you can't catch sacs, bream are a very good second choice!
