Whole family Pointe aux chene crabbing 7/9/16
Took the family crabbing at the first damm out of pointe aux chene marina. The bit was slow. Still Managed about 5 dozen not great size but all where full. The kids also caught 2 red fish. First time i have been there the kids had a great time after we picked up all the trash left behind by the locals. I can not under stand want these people were thinking as this is their back yard . They were their when we arrived talked to them very nice, toke it well when i could not keep my 3 year old for grabbing their lines. When they were finished packed all their gear loaded it the boat and road off leaving behind 4 Walmart bags full of trash. judging form the amount of trash in the water this is a common practice. Would still recommend going with children. The constant action keep them entertained all day and still a good looking marsh. We also saw a lot of big gators several 8 to 10 feet feasting on the chicken form the crabbers.

Nice report, thanks for posting. I too have picked up trash left behind by other people. I don't understand it either. I do know at a local reserve in my area, they shut down an area for a year because the people would leave the trash behind. W&F got tired of picking up the others peoples trash. It seemed to have worked. When you take away one of the few places people can go without a boat and crab and fish, they tend to get the message. Great picture of the kids by the way! That is what it is all about!
