Look for a drop-off into water at least 20 ft deep. They will be close by. Check out the South Carolina forum since you will find more Wylie reports there.
When I had a boat I fished seven oaks bridge area. You will want to have both NC and Scott license there.
I also fished the rock wall area south of the South Point Landing.
The area on the Belmont side to the right of the ramps. First point you come too. Your 20hp will get you there in a few mins and to seven oaks in about 10 mins. I have done well in both places.
Pm me if you want more details on finding where I'm talking about. I'll be glad to help all I can.
Thank a Veteran every chance you get.
I was on wylie today, trying to catch perch to cat fish with and I keep catching crappie , about 10 inches long! Look for brush back in the creeks in 15 to 20 foot of water, They were there this morning in big allison. back close to bridge.
Thanks guys! Since the 20hp im gonna try the big Allison creek points and drop offs Thursday when I go for the day then see about some of the other spots that were recommended! Can you post pictures in the forums? I would love to post a picture of the points I have pinged to try on navionics and see if yal think I'm picking good spots
And if anybody would be interested in letting me tag along with them one day to see what I can learn PM me and we could work something out I could pay for gas or lunch or something

My wife and I have been out little Allison several times. I'm just starting out with the boat/sonar and have been told that nothing can beat time on the water. Learn to use your gear and find humps, holes, ledges, walls, stuff under water like brush piles..etc. Once you can use your gear it's just a matter of learning to fish for the venerable Pomoxis family of fish. Apparently different methods work different times a year, different temps..etc..

Sounds good I'm still learning to use the helix 5 and play around with the setting in excited to start fishing deep brush and drop offs since I usually stick to shallow
