Default Halifax county hunt club lake

I fished our club pond on the 4th and the fishing was very slow. Normally it is a crappie factory. Its the only place I know of that its easier to catch crappie than bream. The weather was cool at about 75ish and heavy cloud cover. We had about an inch of rain yesterday morning so I really expected a great bite. I threw every color in the tackle box and only caught a few. I fish the Charlie Brewer slider jigs to keep from getting hung up. The lake is full if wood and cypres trees. Caught enough to fry but not the normal bite. Was yesterday slow for anyone else?

In smaller lakes and ponds, a decent of amount of fresh water can throw the lake off for a day or two. Give it another try when the weather levels out.

Striper fishing on Hickory was slow too. Caught 5 on Saturday am and only 2 Monday and had to really work for them.
