Default Newbie needs suggestions on where to crappie fish near Hammond/Ponchatoula area!

I will hopefully soon be moving to the Ponchatoula area and would appreciate any suggestions on where the better crappie fishing would be. I know nothing about where to go fishing in that area. All suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you very much!

Not from that area, but I would suggest Tickfaw and Amite rivers.

Hey Charles welcome to the forum. I'd suggest starting on the Ticfaw river. Try to learn the area. There are plenty of sacs there just have to work a little. I would also suggest using the search tab at the to right corner of the page. The words "Ticfaw" or "tchefuncte" will probably be a good start. Reading a few old post taught me a bunch.

Good luck in your quest. That's all I can do since I live north of Alexandria. LOL.

Thanks anyway. At present I also live north of Alexandria--near Toledo Bend.

Sounds great. I still haven't learned how to use this system---no telling where this reply will show up. Appreciate your time and advise.
