Try small cutup pieces of a hot dog. They work for just about everything. Learned that trick camping with my brother back in the early 60's.

I've tried dogs for cats, with no success...I mainly caught snapping turtles lol. I'll have to try it for bluegills.

I microwave the cut up hot dogs, makes them a little tougher and stay on the hook better, 30 seconds

The slimJims worked great because of the tough skin of them, and then give them a little pinch and watch the grease ooze out...but then there's the fact that slimJims taste great so I hate to give it to a fish lol.

Cut hot dogs up into small pieces....put in a tupperware container and stir in a small jar of minced garlic and a pack of strawberry cool aid....put cover on container and put in refrigerator...next day go fish with it
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Ive heard thats a go to carp bait.

My kids love hot dogs for bluegills in the neighborhood pond. They manage the occassional bass too with them.

It is. Corn is all I ever use for carp.

However, I got my biggest (a 22# grassie) on a tiny piece of hot dog. Hot dogs are great for cats and gills. Bread is also good for almost everything.

YEP, same here, they sure do catch the bass on hot dogs, especially when nuked that morning so grease is present...
