    Default Palatlakaha

I think i spelled it right. I spent the day mostly in Lake county. 275 miles today and 8 stop. Several times I passed over the Palatlakaha creek, and one time it was opening up onto one of the most picturesque lakes I have seen in quite a while. I believe the place I speak of is between lakes Palatlakaha and Minnehaha on hiway 561. The Clermont chain of lakes I believe. Slab, this sin't far from you and is truly worth a little road trip. Other parts off of hiway 33 was more suited to a smaller metal boat than a large glass boat like mine, but would be a beautiful place to drop the kayak's and a good size lake isn't far either way. Just food for thought for when, like all of us do, we get the urge to see some different surroundings. Hope someone enjoys this as much as I did mulling it over as I drove through my day..........Skeet.

You might mean Palatka? I've caught some HUGE crappie in the spillway of the Rodman Reservoir Dam

You are right Skeet and actually runs also north under 27 into Lake Harris. You probably crossed over it on 33 in Groveland, there is a ramp there in which you can get into Lake Lucy. Never fished it but thinking about it. You had a nice scenic route on them there back roads, used to run that area my self a few years back. Thanks brings back memories.

Palatka is way north and on the St.Johns river, and I was near Clermont west of Orlando. Get on google earth and take a look. If I were out of state I would look into this as a possible destination for a fishing weekend or more. Lots of good area s to check out.

I think you were where the road crosses over the creek with all the big bald cypress in the water to the east nd the beautiful creek to the west. The creek goes under Hwy 50 and into Lake Minneola. There is a ramp into Mineola but don't know if you can get through the creek to Minnehaha. Beautiful spot you speak of!!

You can get into the creek under hiway 50 from Lake Mineola when the water is up. There is another body of water on the southside of hiway 50 I don't know what it's called but it dried up during the drought a few years back but I think there's water in it now. I've been across the creek on hiway 33 for years but have never stopped to fish that lake. Not sure if my tracker would get thru to the lake. All beautiful water and scenery!
