Last time I bought minners was end of April, they was two fifty a dozen.. from what I gather they are harder to keep alive for transport and storage, so reckon they have to make up on the loss somewhere, dunno.. just don't fish with baby Asians by mistake... Lol
Lots of farm ponds and small catfish ponds around here in Mississippi and they have all the minnows you would want. Just throw some bread crumbs or catfish feed out and scare the catfish away and cast a 4 or 5' 1/4" mesh castnet and get all the minnows you need. That's what I do anyway the nets are a little expensive but at $2 and $3 dollars a dozen the net pays for itself very quickly. So look around and find a farmer or two and see if they will let you check out that little pond you never know it may be full of minnows.
Be safe and good luck fishing
1.35 a dozen here, 12.50 a pound.

Most I have ever paid was $23.00 per lb at the Ten-Tom One Stop at the state line near Pickensville, AL. Everyone complained so much they went down a few bucks, but not much. Only two minner stores within 75 miles, so they kinda have the market cornered.

30 in a bag for $3....I think that's 10 cents each...I usually buy 3 bags....plenty for single pole fishing...that the least of my fishing expense....
