I fish out of nautic star 2110 bay boat. has hydraulic steering. just recently there has been a lot of slack in the steering and when it does catch its real jerky. it has a silver star HC5345 steering cyclinder. anybody got any idea as to what might be going on.

You got air in the lines. Most likely from a leaking cylinder. You can buy a gland and seal kit and then refill the system. Bleeding is a two man job and a pain in the rear.

I did the seal and bleed thing. Took 3 people on mine. (one with experience, cause me and the other was not even close to doing it right.) Good luck. That is exactly how mine felt before the fix.

well that's hat the problem was. seal gone on cylinder and air lines. couldn't fix it with my broken leg so had it done. now good to go
How's that leg doing?
