I am staying at Lake Barkley for the week and in the 1st 2 days have found 0 crappie. Staying in the cove with the state park. Have tried stake beds and fallen timber. Any help or suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Get out on the ledges and drop-offs with your electronics and find some deep cover. Maps of that area should be available at the marina.

There is a deep brush pile (14fow) not far from the marina at state park that should hold a fish or two. Check out at the ends of boat docks in deeper water.

Brush pile is marked somewhere right in here 36.867431, -87.930265 on that creek channel.

Fish any wood you find on those deep creek channels and the little river channel. may have to putt around looking for a while though.

I went last Friday for 2 hours, had 9 keepers and 2 big cats. Caught probably 8 or 9 small crappie. All were on 16' of water in brush

Unfortunately fishing has been tough as I have been contained to our cove since Tuesday since my outboard seized up and won't run. Bad fishing is at the bottom,of my list of problems now

Sorry about your troubles. I destroyed my brand new trolling motor on the 1st day of our vacation several years ago when I was ate up with bass fishing. Pretty much ruined a few days of it till I got it fixed.

You could still try trolling some cranks in 12-20 feet of water in the cove early and late.
