I changed ours out about a month ago. Just couldn't throw that hardware away, looked too useful. The wife put it to good use. Awful thing looking in the side view mirror and see your license plate looking up towards the sky instead of back. Knowing it is just a matter of time before the plastic gives up.
Hate to say this but, your plate is going to bend mounted rigid like that. Every time you back in or pull out of the water it's going to want to bend the plate eventually breaking it off. Don't ask how I know this. Go by hardware store and find a good piece of piano hinge.
Heck of maiden voyage ds, lol. Can't wait for episode 3, and glad ya'll got it sorted out and brung home some fish.. and yeah plate mount is too rigid. I thought about a similar mount after my plate went MIA in March, but a friend says they make them brackets to flex for a reason.. sounded reasonable enough. Great read and you tell a good story, thanks for sharing!!

A tip you might could use, instead of a pressure washer try spraying with a degreasing agent then rinsing. Those pressure washers can cause lots of problems if used incorrectly.
I hope you get all the hoses replaced and the leaks all fixed before I go fishing with you.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

G, I looked at repairing it correctly and I'm gonna need parts that walmart OB didn't have. What they did have was a small tube of super glue and quality electrical tape.
We checked the bildge pump before hitting the ramp. Also checked the bildge about 30 minutes in, was good. Afterwards when I pulled the plug in the lot about a half gallon came out. I was at the top ramp of teckville and on a good incline.
The new fish cleaning station is taped off. Bummer.
The male end of the discharge broke off in the hose, so new pump and hoses.
