Well, I finally got to go fishing for the first time in a long time, so my son and I made a trip to my favorite fishing hole. The water level is still a little too high but it sure was nice to get back on the water and get to feel that thump. We only managed 12 but from talking to the few people on the lake that was pretty good. We fished from 7- about 2 and only had 2 fish at 11:00. I feel we could have picked up a few more but the fish in the live well were dying and they didn't have ice at the landing this morning so we headed in to get those fish on ice. It should get right in the next couple of weeks as long as the water doesn't drop out too fast. It's an oxbow lake that feeds of the Mississippi River. No pics this time, maybe next. Some good fish with a few medium sized thrown in. Gonna throw in a hot oil bath tomorrow night. Can't wait.

Good to hear that you've been not only fishing but also catching. It always feels good to get out on the water when you haven't been in a while. Thanks for the report.

Hear anything about the bream or bass. I come in from offshore in a few days and it should be about rite. Maybe this will be a good year.
No. Charles I haven't. I'm sure you could catch some bream. It should be good in a week or so. Most crappie being caught are large.

Hey, Robert, it is good to see you post again. Glad that you are back on the water. I was beginning to wonder if something was wrong. Good catch. Congratulations!

Thanks pastor. Nothing wrong. Hit a bump in the road of life. Drove a truck the better part of last year, opened up a new hardware store March of this year in monroe. Just now getting it to where I feel comfortable leaving it with the employees without me being close. So hopefully I can get a little fishing in, just in time for this summer heat of course. Lol. Thinking of trying beouf River this Tuesday. I think you know where that is. I've heard they been catching a few.

I am glad to hear that the Lord got you over that bump. Good luck with the new store. What is the name of it and where is it located. If I need something and come to Monroe I will buy from you. Need to support my crappie.com people. Good luck on Beouf River and all of your other fishing trips.
