    Default Lake Wylie Nightstalk 6-9-16

Crappies seem to be doing pretty good. This is Everett's and his friend Lowell's report, The better halves joined them and went last night and caught 30 crappies and 40 white perch, 1 bass and a couple of cat's. They set up in deep water again and had a good time. They got there around 8 pm and left at 1 am. Had lots of throw backs. Only fish harmed were the keeper who have a date with a pot of oil.

Butch, the catfish both nights are eating size 2 to 4 pound. Nothing real big. They were not fished for but just happen to come by. It also seem that the last 4 or 5 times out we have caught shad on the hooks. They are about 5 to 6 inches long anybody know why? I don't think they are suppose to do that are they? But it is happening. Hope to go again tomorrow night with the kids and that will be a treat. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Please take a picture of the shad. I'm suspecting there not shad, maybe herring. What part of the lake? From all the flooding I bet there are some new fish that have come down the Catawba chain.

I caught one on the last nightstalk I was at with Grady and it looked to me like a Hickory.
but mine was only about 3" long.

Shouldn't be any Hickory shad around, but who knows. Fish are moved all over the place. Take some pictures.

Could be Gizzards...or more likely herring biting a hook. But who knows....could be anything I guess.
