    in missouri if you don't keep the fish you must release unharmed back to the water if possible,,, attaching metal is harm to a fish and you will get a ticket...

    How do you release a short paddlefish that has been snagged with a metal hook? What about cutting the line on a trout that has swallowed a hook? I don't buy it. The safety pin can be put through the dorsal fin and easily be removed and the fish kept or released.
