    Yes...3" thick...silicone the joints on top.....columns are 6" 2 piece snap together....beams are 7"......

    Bruce my Dad had one put up some years back just like that. The old one was aluminum that got messed up by hail. That one would get so hot in the afternoon that you couldn't sit under it. The new foam one does wonders as it doesn't heat up. You made a wise choice.
