Must have been a good fight swimming backwards!
I would rather be fishing instead of heading out to work in this heat. Thanks for the picture! What else did you get?![]()

[ATTACH=CONFIG]241078[/ATTACH. I knew this wasn't a crappie when it hit,or when it got hooked in the tail.It was a drag peeler for sure,on 4 lb test. I fought it for several minutes,,it was fun. Off the water by 10:30,was getting hot fast. Thermometer in the truck showed 106 in the parkinglot,, 85 on the way home. The Lord blessed me with a saft trip with some fish catching to boot,,no bigguns in the crappie dept,,Mabey 11". Fighting the carp was worth the trip. Sam

We did a yard sale today, it was hot in the even shade. Glad you got a few before the sun ran you off.
Nice catch Sam I love hooking big fish on my crappie rods.
Sam, your story of the carp reminded me of a similar incident on Wylie. This was in the 90s and I was camping at Ebenezer with a group of guys from work. I was flipping jigs under docks and I foul hooked one in the tail. He ran out in the middle of Allison creek or I would never landed him on 4# test line. He weighed 19#. So I can appreciate the fun you had with yours.
Good job.
