Default Kayak Trip Report, Swan Creek WMA

I made a short trip to Swan Creek after work today trying something new. I'm always looking for ways to catch fish in very shallow water. When the water is muddy like Lilly Pond then spider rigging works great, but what to do in clear water? I picked up a couple Rebel Micro Minnows. It's a tiny 1/16oz crankbait. I gave them a try this afternoon and the gills were crushing them! I also caught several bass and two Crappie. They'll only dive down a couple feet, but wiggle like crazy. I can't wait to try them in the Flint River for Crappie and gills.

I tried both a steady retrieval and stop and go, I was catching more with the stop and go including both Crappie were caught that way.
