Try doing a soft reset. If that doesn't work you can do a hard reset but before you do make sure you back up your Trails and waypoints onto an SD card. A hard reset will wipeout your waypoints.
The instructions to do resets are in your manual.

Went out last Tuesday (5-24-16) and everything was working fine until we had a storm roll in on us. Loaded the boat and unhooked HDS 7 to put in truck while we waited out the storm. An hour later we hooked unit back up and unloaded. Turned unit on and came right up. Then the sidescan quit advancing just sat there with the last image. Turned unit off and back on. Never could get the sidescan to work, downscan worked fine. Decided to disconnect unit and look at the pins to make sure I didn't bend one when I put it back on, all looked good so I hooked it back up and after about 10 minutes of messing around with it, it went back to working just fine. Now yesterday (5-29-16) I went out since it was my only day off this week and turned unit on and everything worked fine, about an hour in the downscan quit working on me. Downscan shows nothing but a white screen. I powered down and back up and nothing. disconnected unit and reconnected and still no downscan. Sidescan was working just fine. Can someone give me and idea as to what is going on here. I'm new to Lowrance and these units. I know it has to be something commend with the scan part of it.
Unit is not networked and I am running the LSS2 with standard transducer. 2D worked during both issues.

The first thing I would do, if you don't have a compressor is get a can of compressed air for cleaning key boards. Spray out both plugs male and female real good. Could have gotten a couple of drops of moisture in there when you unhooked in the rain. Does not take much to screw up a connection.

That's a great link. Wonder if that could be made a sticky for easy reference. What about it CatFan?
Thanks for the information gentlemen. I will take a look at everything Thursday, for I am working long hours and not getting much sleep right now. Want to wait till I'm off work and well rested before doing anything.
I have the reset procedures taped in my cover. I also have manuals stowed in pdf format on my unit in the files, such as ulterra and other equipment. Handy to have on hand. Manuals just disappear for sum reason.
There is also a feature called SET. This is how to save current settings. Resets returns unit to factory type settings. If you do a reset, you can load the SET file you saved prior to reset and this will restore all your personal settings. Also handy if you screw your settings up.

Well I have done everything I can as far as resets and updates.
Found this to be very helpful. Article Details The unit appears to be working, but not 100% sure till I put it on the water to make sure. I did the latest update and re installed my waypoints.
Thanks for all the information and help gentlemen. For I am not electronic savvy at all.
