very nice tom. did you use your dual injector or does the throat patch warp the color when it injects?

The blue and green baits went swimming today amidst a tough bite but they did get some crappies and sunfish to chew on them. Maybe the chew part was too much as both colors were totally beat up and didn't make the trip home. One of the green baits got two sunfish, one taping over 11" and that bait didn't come out good. lol

A short note on the silverfish we did extremely well early spring for crappie in Toledo Bend we were using a clearer silver glitter seemed to do the trick we were getting 16 inch crappie.

I ran the 1 7/8" Silverfish thru the mill yesterday, which was also the best day of the season thus far for numbers and size of fish caught. Purple/chartreuse tail and a couple other chartreuse tailed combos were smoking hot. Stingers and paddletail in the purple/chartreuse were also on fire. A 1 3/4" Twitchy Minnow in the purple/chartreuse could not buy a hit. We saw areas of shoreline not 30 feet wide that had literally hundreds of crappies on beds....we'd pass these spots up and re-focus on deeper water, but we still had a 200+ fish morning. Lots of 12+ inch fish caught. I kept my 5 for a meal tonight.

thank you for the referral bob! same results in wisconsin for bluegills and crappies. the silverfish is a very effective little bait. the 1 1/2 inch, with a 1/16th oz jig head just DESTROYS big gills. something about bluegills and baits with a extra large jighead, they go off on it.

one time we were fishing walleyes on a lake we didnt know had nice gills in it. i was fishing with a 1/16 oz slowpoke with a big crawler hooked through the band, hitting the edge of a weedbed. all of a sudden, my bait got just freight-trained and when i set the hook, had nothing. crawler gone. so i do it again, same rig. hammered again, nothin. about the 5th time around, i snagged a 11 inch BULLgill through the shoulders. it was huge bluegills slamming that presentation, which was at least 12 inches long, hitting it right at the point where the crawler and hook met. i snagged another in the gills, and we decided to call it a day for walleyes, switching to our panfish stuff. never got a single bite, tried for a hour at least. went back to the walleye rig, hooked a 10 inch right in the mouth. crazy stuff, they wanted that huge rig...didnt want anything to do with 2" anything.

Got to be a lot of detail n making these with small color patches. Nice work to all you folks. I've always kept some natural looking baits close by, and Hammers red belly would be a good one to add to my already overflowing box.
