    Default Moss report 5-24-16

Decided to give the cat fishing a break and go after the crappie today, A little windy at times, Under a strong High pressure, it had them tight to the bottom and tight to the side of the brush, light bite too, in 15 to 18 foot of water. Had to drop that jig down in there face and shake it in front of them and wait. Did find some slabs under the docks early this morning, but that bite stopped about lunch time, it was slow this morning but this afternoon they bit better. water temp 73 to 74 , Put about 90 crappie in the boat, kept 27 good fish to eat.

There is a few brim in there too, if they bite I'll take them, too.

Are you the one and same CountryboyNC on the NC catfish board? If you are, I saw your latest flathead from Wylie. I'm getting ready to head to Tillery soon to chase some crappie and hopefully find some flatties. Grew up catching those things in the rivers at home. Looking for a little help down there so I'm not flying blind.

It was a nice one for sure. We're gonna give it a try next month and see if we can luck into a few. Never fished Tillery but gonna give it a heck of try.

Nice catch Countryboy. Hockey86 I grew up fishing Tillery, but have not fished it much in the past 10 years of so. Last few times, the white perch wouldn't leave me alone long enough to catch any crappie. I bet we caught 200. Kept the biggest 60 or so. I bet we caught 10 or 12 on umbrella rigs when we started trolling for stripers. Good luck.
