Thread: Wap?

I drove over there last weekend. No fishing but the lake was very high. Peoples Creek ramp was under water. Most of the low ramps were unusable. Not too many boats out from what I could see

Heard from a friend of a friend that said they were catching the heck out of them up there. Didn't say what fish though. Could be carp, could be marlin, who knows.

I went Saturday two weeks ago. Was hardly anyone there. I fished from about 11:00 am until close to sunset with a couple breaks for eating and relaxing. I was pitching jigs on spawning banks...actually mostly trying to catch bluegill. Caught about 25 crappie with 10 or 11 keepers biggest was about 12 ". Caught most of the keepers close to sunset on one bank. Caught a few bass and just a few bluegill and redear. I think I could have caught some more if I stayed a while longer they just seemed to turn on late but got tired and came on in. I did not try deep at all. I don't spider rig or pull cranks.Almost all the fish came off banks not far from the channel.Nothing real shallow or more than 1/3 way back a cove or creek arm. Went fishless in some really good spots i have historically nearly always caught something.She's the Wapp...whats a boy gonna do???

thanks fellas wap sure is a different breed of lake when it comes to catching good fish. after asking if anyone has been i figured i would check the water level and noticed it's 10' over summer pool. i figured it was high but didn't expect it to be that high. i may try it anyways on sunday u never know, plus it's a good excuse to get out on what is supposed to be a pretty early summer day. i'll shout back if i do go
