    Default Fish Report-Jordan Lake-5-20-2016

I was originally going to Morrison Lake but changed my mind at the crossroads of M-43 & 66 and headed to Jordan Lake instead.
Launched at 8:00 and tried some channels first, no luck. Headed to the southwest side and tried shallow and docks....no luck. About that time I got a text from Jerry telling me some of his go to spots. One he mentioned I knew of so headed over. There was a guy fishing that area and we struck up a conversation as fisherman do.
He had at that point about 20 crappie and told me that he put a buoy out and try around that.....5 minutes I landed a 13 1/2" crappie. Another 20 minutes I had 3 more 13+" crappies in the Livewell. Then they stopped biting, like a switch turned them off. About a hour later and the bite started again.
I ended up with 10, our newly made friend had about 25.
I am buying some newer electronics for my boat soon and have the ancient fish finder on this boat so I have no idea on water temp, however depth ranged from 7' to 16'. I tried to hang at the drop off. 1/16 and 1/32 ounce jigs (pink, chartreuse) and minnows with a bobber at about 5' is what I did. Caught about 8 bass on this too.
These are the first fish I have caught with the "new to me" boat..... Curse has been lifted.

Glad you got into them. Gotta love catching crappie with bobbers. Did you find any gills shallow?

No gills Jerry. Sure is a lot of bass on the beds though....they wouldn't strike with a minnow in front of their nose however.
