Default Kayak Trip Report, Swan Creek WMA*

I fished Swan Creek again today from 6AM till around noon. The fish were on fire, kept a limit of gills and shellcrackers plus 13 Crappie. I also released a couple dozen bass and several additional limits of gills and shellcrackers. It seemed everywhere I tossed my little spinner would result in a hit. The gills were on the bed and smacking anything that came near.

I found a small isolated group of pads and pulled 25 or 30 gills one after another from this one spot.

Turn right at the shed, about 500 yards to the north on the left side of the road is where one of the springs feed into Swan Creek. The beavers have had the area dammed up for the last three or four years resulting in a huge flat covered in lily pads that's about two to three feet deep.
