I don't have a lot to add here. I only met him a couple times. But I have to say, his personality was larger than life, so I'm glad to see a thread like this carry that forward via our memories. The couple times I did meet him certainly left an impression. He always spoke what was on his mind so you always knew where you stood. He was as generous as "all get out". He and Barbie for that matter. Just ask Abbey! The one thing I'll never forget is his laugh, and hearing him clear across the lake one morning laughing it up with tomtom in the morning fog. You knew exactly who it was, and you wished you were there too laughing it up with them.
These pictures posted on another thread says it all.

There's no doubt who that is in these pics. It's the one and only, Mr. Goodtime. Gonna miss you man.
Oh, forgot to mention his tender side, saving a pelican caught up in some line:

I don't have a particular story, but I do remember this first time I met Mike. Of course, it was at camp during the big Saturday feed and my initial thought was "Good grief, this guy never stops talking!" After the crowd thinned out and we all got to visit around the campfire, I really got a kick out of him and how forthright he was. Everytime after that when we came down for camp, Paul and I always enjoyed visiting with Mike and Barbie, when she was able to come. Most of our visiting has been around the campfire in the evenings, which has always been my favorite part of every crappie camp.
I do have to say, he told the story of Paul pulling Mason out of the fire better than anybody!

I had the pleasure of fishing with Mike on several occasions over the last few years.
Mike and I hit it off right away and anyone who fished near us know it
from all the noise coming out of his boat. We never really caught many fish
but man we had a lot of fun. Last year I came to camp with my wife and Mike
told me to take his boat with the wife and have fun fishing.. He was always a
telling me that I was like a brother to him and that if I needed anything to just
let him know. You know guys like him are very hard to find and as I sit here and think about all the great times we
had together with tears in my eyes all I can say is. I will see you again soon my brother and will
always have the memory of all the great times we have had...

We always knew that when we were around Mike that we were going to have fun. He always had a joke or a story to share. He had a big personality but an even bigger heart. I know that if I ever needed his help that he would be reaching for his truck keys and headed out the door to lend a hand. He always said that we had a seat in his boat or a place to stay if we needed it. I know that he meant it and he had told many other people the same thing.
I always enjoyed looking at his trail cam pictures with him and the names that he would give the best deer that year. He always looked forward to opening day, but his hope was that the biggest buck would walk out in front of Barbie's stand and not his.
Even though we would only see each other at the camps each year, I felt like each visit was like a family reunion.
