That will be a lot heavier than you think. Have you thought about getting a truck first and a boat later ?
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

It's the same weight as a Tracker Pro. And no, I cannot do that. I am stuck with this car. I'm just going to find a nice jon boat

Of course price is relevant to the area your in, but you may want to broaden your search and possible find a much better deal. Example this rig is only asking $1,000 and would probably do $850. If your saving a couple of gran then spending a few hundred to drive a bit and pick one up is not that bad.

Pulling is not the only thing to consider...you also have to stop, too much weight pushing a front wheel drive car can end up with the back end passing the front when stopping. I have seen this happen. Smaller aluminum boats are cheaper to operate and maintain. I would go with the 14x48 flat bottom or wide 14 foot semi V. Good 10 to 25 hp motor. I would recommend a truck or SUV to pull the older 16 to 17 foot bass boats. You would be ok but at the upper limit of the car with something like a 16x48 Bass Tracker in my opinion. Good luck on the search.

Thanks guys. Yes, I am looking at no more than a 14ft jon. This 1988 wouldn't be too much? I love it!

Look at the 16' Lowe on the classifieds on here...I have almost the same boat with a 40 hp and it does great. I have ran a 35 on it also and it does a good job, sips gas and is fast enough..the price looks good at $1800. Not sure how far in Tennessee it is located.

TN is 3 hrs from me. I like that 1988 set up. That's what I'm shooting for.

But first, lets start with the towing package. I am looking at buying the trailer hitch off etrailer. Now the 2" hitch. I'll do that too. But this 100 lb tonuge weight thing won't be an issue?
