If you see Garfish in your crappie hole do you still fish that area? Or is it pretty much a no go.
Gar have invaded the area where I fish for crappie, over the past 2 days they are pretty thick as they come up and roll on the surface. I haven't been fishing that spot since but wonder if it may still be worth trying.

I have never had it affect me. Fish a lot in Spring river and seems like there are always gar schools around when I'm fishing for crappie never seemed to scare the crappie off. Unless you're talking about Alligator Gar most of the forage long nose and short nose gar take is small 6" or less.
Worst thing about them is they will hit little jigs once in a while, which usually means retying is in your immediate future. If you do get it in then you gotta deal with those teeth!
It has been my experience that far will focus on shad and other baitfish so it may be that the crappie are still there for the same reason. It would at least be worth a try
