    anyone know why these fish get splotchy? Even our bass get dark spots them.

    Try putting them on ice right away and they won't lose their color like that. Warm water causes them to change color like that.

    They went from stringer to ice in about 30 minutes. Maybe I should have taken the cooler in the first place

    i was going to say that typically occurs when one fish is on another in the ice chest .....the spot they touch each other takes longer to cool down than the iced areas and the areas that touch get that day old look sometimes ....dont seem to hurt the quality though , just the coloration
